Vision:
To create a society where individuals from all sectors of the community are able to participate in artistic creations/ murals, that are fully accessible/visible in community spaces acting as a platform to share views, give a voice to minority and marginalized individuals and groups, challenge any preconceived notions around the subject matter and facilitate debate.
Community Murals USP is that the artists running it have decades of experience in this field, bringing a deeper understanding of the problems faced and the nuance needed to portray this through the medium of the visual arts. Andrew Bolton will go to extraordinary lengths to make participation in the art as accessible as possible, led by his passion to make art available to all and lived experience of exclusion and disability.
Clients in the past have been local authorities, hospitals, schools and community groups. With increasingly stretched budgets and reduced funds for these types of projects the social enterprise will also be looking towards the private and corporate side.
This is an exciting time at Community Murals; we have projects planned in Indonesia, across the UK and Ireland and the organisation is growing rapidly with a great profile in the arts sector. We are looking for directors to support this.

Making your application
All Directors are appointed on a voluntary basis. Community Murals CIC is looking for enthusiastic people who can bring additional skills, knowledge and experience to help this organisation develop both commercially and socially. It is of the upmost importance that all Directors understand the importance of creating a supportive, inclusive, enabling and progressive work environment that recognises individual ability.
The CIC was established by a disabled artist who continues to lead the organisation. New board members need to be adaptable to allow for working alongside disabled people.
If you think you fit the bill we’d love to hear from you, please email communitymurals@yahoo.com for a very simple application form or to arrange an informal chat with Andrew Bolton.
